Ethanol dehydration/tert-butanol dehydration catalyst
Changzhou Ruihua’s dehydration catalyst (RAO) has the characteristics of high specific surface area, surface acidity, high catalytic selectivity, excellent thermal stability, high mechanical strength, and good particle size, and can be used as a general dehydration catalyst.
The dehydration of tert-butanol can produce isobutene, which in turn produces MTBE, while the dehydration of ethanol can produce ethylene. Both of these reactions are very cost-effective routes. When the RAO catalyst produced by Changzhou Ruihua is applied to the dehydration of tert-butanol to isobutylene and ethanol to ethylene, it exhibits high activity and high selectivity.
The dehydration reaction of tert-butanol is carried out in an adiabatic fixed-bed reactor. The tert-butanol and water are pumped out from the metering pump in a certain proportion into the oil bath for gasification. The gasified tert-butanol steam and water vapor enter the same In the catalyst bed. In the reactor, the tert-butanol undergoes dehydration reaction under the action of the spherical RAO-type catalyst, and the product isobutene and the by-products propylene, propane, etc. are produced with high selectivity. The single-pass conversion rate of tert-butanol can reach more than 99.5%. The performance of the selection reaches more than 99.65%.
Ethanol dehydration is carried out in the same pilot plant. The vaporized ethanol is mixed with water vapor and then enters the reactor, where it is dehydrated to produce ethylene. The single-pass conversion rate of ethanol can reach more than 99.5%, and the selectivity of ethylene can reach 99.2%. Ruihua's RAO-type catalyst has undergone a 2000-hour life test, and the catalyst activity has not significantly decreased.
The tert-butanol used for dehydration to produce isobutylene must meet the requirements of SH/T 1495-1992.
The ethanol used for dehydration to produce ethylene needs to meet the requirements of GB/T678-2002.
