Overview
Changzhou Ruihua's dehydration catalyst (RAO) has high specific surface area, surface acidity, high catalytic selectivity, excellent thermal stability, high mechanical strength, good particle size and other characteristics, can be used as a general dehydration catalyst.
The dehydration of tert-butanol can produce isobutylene, which in turn produces MTBE, while the dehydration of ethanol can produce ethylene. Both of these reactions are very cost-effective routes. The RAO type catalyst produced by Changzhou Ruihua shows the characteristics of high activity and high selectivity when applied to the dehydration of tert-butanol to isobutylene and ethanol to ethylene.
Process
The dehydration reaction of tert-butyl alcohol is carried out in an adiabatic fixed bed reactor, tert-butyl alcohol and water are respectively pumped into the oil bath according to a certain proportion from the metering pump for gasification, and the steam and steam of the tert-butyl alcohol after gasification enter the catalyst bed layer at the same time. In the reactor, tert-butanol is dehydrated under the action of spherical RAO catalyst, and the product isobutene and by-products such as propylene and propane are produced with high selectivity. The one-way conversion rate of tert-butanol can reach more than 99.5, and the selectivity of isobutene can reach more than 99.65.
Ethanol dehydration was performed in the same pilot plant. The vaporized ethanol is mixed with water vapor and enters the reactor to produce ethylene after dehydration. The single-pass conversion of ethanol can reach more than 99.5%, and the ethylene selectivity can reach 99.2%. RAO type catalyst of Ruihua after 2000 hours of life test, no significant decline in catalyst activity.
Feed requirements
The tert-butyl alcohol used for the dehydration of isobutylene must meet the requirements of SH/T 1495-1992.
Ethanol used for dehydration to produce ethylene shall meet the requirements of GB/T678-2002.
